Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

hawaiirentaltax.com is a free website run by Veex Photo LLC, a Hawaii limited liability company. This page explains what the site collects. The short answer is very little.

The short version

  • The checker runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you choose in it is sent to us or stored by us.
  • There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no database.
  • We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, with Google's advertising features turned off.
  • We never sell information, and we don't share it for advertising.

1. The checker

When you answer the checker's questions, the answers stay in your browser. They're also written into the page address, after the # sign, so you can bookmark or share your checklist. That part of an address isn't sent to our web host. If you copy the link and send it to someone, they'll see the answers in it, so share it only with people you'd want to see them.

2. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site: which pages are read, what's clicked, how far people scroll, and roughly where visitors are. For the checker, Google Analytics records which options were picked (such as the island, the type of rental, the rent range, and whether someone is current on filing), so we can tell whether the checker is useful. It never receives a name, email address, or tax ID, because the site never asks for one.

Google Analytics uses cookies. We keep its data for no more than 14 months. You can opt out with Google's add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

3. Our web host

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub records basic technical information such as IP addresses when pages are requested. We don't have access to those records beyond what GitHub provides to site owners.

4. Links to other sites

The checker and the articles link to other websites, including the Hawaii Department of Taxation, the counties, and software companies that may help rental owners. Those sites have their own privacy policies. If we ever earn a commission from a link, the page will say so next to it.

5. If you email us

If you write to point out a mistake or ask a question, we keep your email so we can reply. We won't add you to a mailing list or share your message.

6. Children

This site is for adults who own or manage rental property. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
